Not for the First Time, I am a Fool

Remember how I complained publicly on this blog about the annoying challenges of my weekly shopping at the Mega at Bolshevik?  That link will take you back to my step-by-step documentation of the incident many a month ago.

We've been here 11 months and I continue to shop at Mega at least twice a week despite bigger indignancies.  Each time I make sure I only buy whatever my two arms can carry down to the parking lot, for reasons listed above.

We've been here 11 months and today I learnt that what I've been using all this time is in fact the back entrance.

Does that look like a back entrance to you??

The main entrance is here, on the opposite side, under this parking lot.  Even though there is no Mega sign to indicate that, well, there is a Mega there.

The parking lot is covered, making grocery shopping possible in a more variety of weathers than I have got used to over the months.   All those times that had me worried about having Baby exposed to the snowstorm?  Gone.
There is a ramp.  I can actually do a major weekly shopping and push the cart out to the car, all the way without ever having to strain a muscle again.

Yes, I know.  I am a fool.  Luckily this time I was not made to feel that way, besides you and me no one else needs to know.

Thursday will reveal how I got to discover this secret place with all the hidden gems it holds.  I mean, really, look at the walls of this parking lot!  They're painted by the famous Kiev mural artist, Bordushov, about whom I have blogged before here and here.

Really, in a parking lot!  Isn't this one of those things that makes you think only in Ukraine?

And the security god guy keeping watch over the parking cars?  Of course he came over to tell me I wasn't allowed to photograph.

I swear I didn't have my answer ready, it just popped out.
Imtakingphotosofthepilesofsnownotthemurals, I mumbled.

He just walked off.

  2. Pictures please! And please try taking the photos yourself because I want to find out why these public murals painted by Bordushov seem to be so protected....
